Encinitas and its neighborhoods
Encinitas, in San Diego County, runs from Batiquitos Lagoon in the north to San Elijo Lagoon in the south. We serve the whole city, including Old Encinitas, New Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff-by-the-Sea and Olivenhain, and our home ZIP is 92024. Cardiff-by-the-Sea has its own ZIP, 92007.
Utilities differ across the city. Water and sewer service here comes from separate agencies. San Dieguito Water District covers Cardiff, Old Encinitas, Leucadia and part of New Encinitas, and Leucadia Wastewater District handles sewer for Leucadia and much of New Encinitas. The city's MyEncinitas map shows which agencies serve a specific address.

Carlsbad lies north across Batiquitos Lagoon, about 7 miles by Interstate 5 and Coast Highway 101, and we serve ZIPs 92008, 92009, 92010 and 92011. La Costa is part of the Carlsbad postal area and is mentioned there.
Solana Beach is south across San Elijo Lagoon, about 5 miles away, in ZIP 92075. Del Mar continues south along the coast in ZIP 92014, and the two pages explain the different sewer and permit contacts in each city.
Rancho Santa Fe, in ZIPs 92067 and 92091, is reached by Encinitas Boulevard, which also links to Olivenhain. San Marcos is inland by Highway 78, with ZIPs 92069, 92078 and 92096.

We also take calls from Oceanside, in ZIP codes 92054, 92056, 92057 and 92058. Fairbanks Ranch, La Costa and Lake San Marcos are covered through the pages for Rancho Santa Fe, Carlsbad and San Marcos.
Distances and drive times on town pages are estimates. Traffic on Interstate 5 and Coast Highway 101 changes them, and dispatch will give you a realistic window when you call. Same-day response is offered when it is available.

Roads, routes and why they matter
Interstate 5 and Coast Highway 101 run north to south along the coast and carry most of the traffic between Encinitas and Carlsbad, Solana Beach and Del Mar. El Camino Real parallels them inland, and Encinitas Boulevard leads east toward Olivenhain and Rancho Santa Fe. Highway 78 connects the coast to San Marcos.
Because those corridors fill up at commute hours, dispatch cannot promise an arrival time. It does mean we can often tell you which direction crews are coming from and give a realistic window when you call. If you can safely meet the technician at the street, say so, because finding the right entrance is the part of a visit that is easiest to speed up.
If you are not sure whether your address is in our area, the contact page lists the dispatch number and our office address on North El Camino Real.
What changes from town to town
Water, sewer and permit offices differ across the area. A flooded kitchen in Solana Beach, a sewage backup in Del Mar and a leak in a Rancho Santa Fe estate each point to a different agency to call, and the town pages list the contacts that apply to each.
The same restoration steps apply everywhere: stop the water, document, dry, clean and rebuild. What changes is who you call about the street main, which office issues permits for rebuild work and how your insurer treats the loss, and the town pages are written to answer those questions locally.
How coverage works
The dispatch line is the same for every town, and it is answered around the clock. When you call, tell us your address and ZIP, what happened and whether power or sewage is involved, and we will confirm that we can help in your location.
If you want to know what services are available once crews arrive, the services overview explains each one, from emergency water removal to mold remediation.
Call when you are ready
Not sure whether your street is covered? A short call settles it, and dispatch can tell you what to do in the meantime.
Dispatch answers 24/7. Call and describe what you see.
